Homeowners and Property Owners Who are experiencing Whitetail Deer Damage can apply to the NY State Department of Enviromental Conservation for a Deer Damage Permit also known as a Nuisance Permit.
This allows property owners to have licensed hunters remove Whitetail Deer from their property utilizing lethal means.
The permit is generally used outside of the normal October through January Archery Season.

As seen recently in the news Whitetail Deer on Long Island have extended their home range.

This should come as no surprise as development is constantly encroaching on existing Whitetail Deer Habitat forcing the Deer to find new food and cover.

The Whitetail Deer is a very resilient and adaptable animal that will find a way to survive and continue to populate Long Island.

THE BOWHUNTING SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN EXTENDED FOR SUFFOLK COUNTY

THE NYS DEC HAS OFFICIALLY EXTENDED THE BOWHUNTING SEASON ON LONG ISLAND FOR SUFFOLK COUNTY

THE SEASON NOW STARTS OCTOBER 1st AND CONTINUES THROUGH JANUARY 31st.

THIS NEW SEASON EXTENSION WILL ALLOW US TO EFFECTIVELY REMOVE DEER FOR A FULL FOUR MONTHS

THE COLDER IT GETS-THE MORE A DEER MUST EAT AND MOVE TO REMAIN WARM

THE MORE MOVEMENT-THE MORE EFFECTIVE OUR DEER MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES BECOME TO HELP CONTROL THE SUFFOLK COUNTY DEER POPULATION
